Arch Enemy was on the way back from Japan and the first tour there (supporting Cathedral), at Narita airport back in 1997, Mike started to hum a melody (chorus) - and I immediately "growl whispered" and filled in with the words "Let the killing begin"... we were like high five and said "Yeah the next one will kick some ass for sure!"... and that's it - we recorded the 2nd album and there it was: "Let the killing begin"!

"Stigmata" - the album that was supposed to be the killer sequel to "Black Earth" - would later show to become a complicated story, being in a serious lack of intensity. Toys Factory (who had the option of releasing it first) told us: "We need more fast songs!"... oops, well, what could we do? Except for re-recruiting Daniel Erlandssson and kick the shit out of ourselves - and hopefully everyone else - in 2 new songs: "Beast of man" and "Diva satanica". In my opinion - if the entire album would've had the same aggression and intensity as on these 2 songs I'd undoubtedly consider it to be my personal favourite album among my own releases.
